Emanuel County Social Science Fair winners: 2nd place honors went to Logan Clifton, Zach Thompson, Mitchell Goff, and Tyler Lewis. 1st place honors went to Macie Gay, Summer Johnson, Trai Hayslip, Kaleb Hughes, Amber Grimes, Lauren Akins, Samantha Wicker, and Alec Hendrix. Rosette Winners for best in Competition went to Taylor Hooks, Becca Hill, and Adrianna Minton (Division One) and Skyler Wilkes, Hannah Brown, and Brianna Watson (Division Two)!
Congrats to the Girls' Basketball team for defeating Jenkins Co. in the first round of the Region Tournament!
ECI C-Team Boys end season 3rd in Region. The basketball team lost in the second round of playoffs against Bryan County. The Bulldogs fought hard against Bryan County during the second round in the playoffs but fell short of winning 36-45. Neither team had home court advantage. The score was close the whole game while each team fought hard to score every time they had the ball. At halftime the Bulldogs were down by 11 points. When the teams stepped on the court after halftime, ECI was determined to turn the score around. The Bulldogs came within 3 points but lost momentum and just couldn’t pull off a win. Lead scorers for the game were James Brown with 12, Kenny Butler with 10, and Caleb Fields with 5. Gatson, Sapp and Peebles all scored 2 points each.Coach Harmon and Coach Fields are proud of their young athletes and hope to see each one on the court again next year along with the upcoming sixth graders. It’s been a great year for the Bulldogs with 9 wins and 3 losses.

Congrats to the ECI Chess team for winning the ORSCA tournament in Statesboro on January 23, 2010! This is the second time in only 4 tournaments that the Bulldogs have won the overall title. Also, congratulations are in order for the two individual placers: James Moseley-1st place, and Ayris Fountain-2nd place!

C-Team football won the South Eastern Middle School Championship on Saturday by defeating North Tattnall 16-14. The Bulldogs finished the season 9-0. Way to go!!!

Next week is Homecoming at ECI!!! Dress up days are: Monday-Throwback Day, Tuesday-Camouflage Day, Wednesday-Idol/Celebrity Day, Thursday-Tacky Day, and Friday-Red and Black Day. Don't miss "Tailgating with the Dawgs" from 5:30-8:00 at Rountree Stadium on Tuesday. Thursday at 5:30 is the parade and then at 7:00 is the Bonfire in the parking lot at Rountree Stadium. Finally, on Friday is the pep rally at 9:30, Senior Salute at 7:05, and "Fifth Quarter" in the Bulldog Cafe after the game. GO DAWGS!!!!

Girls C-Team Softball advanced to the second round of the region playoffs by defeating Bryan Co. yesterday 14-3! They will play at Glennville on Thursday at 4pm.
The Bulldogs improved their record to 4-1 by defeating Jenkins County Friday night 37-7. How 'bout them Dawgs?
Boys and Girls Cross-Country teams both received 2nd Runner-Up at the Ray Miller Invitational 5K race in Millen! Leading the boys were: Devon McCullough (23:58), Randall Carlyle (24:40), and Ryan Bridges (25:48). For the girls were: ShaQuana Myers (28:24), Angel Lowe (29:39), and Shantika Mack (33:26). Madison Oglesby ran a 31:48 5K to make the Top Ten JV.
